Adena에게 호감이 있는 kat은 자신의 감정을 확인해 보기 위해  
추천장을 핑계로 그녀를 직접 만나기로 한다.

grab은 '~을 잡다, 붙잡다'의 의미로 알고 있는데, 여기서는 '잠깐, 급히 ~를 하다'의 의미로 쓰였다.
grab 뒤에 나오는 명사에 따라, '간단히 ~를 먹다', '잠을 잠시 자다'. '택시를 급히 잡아타다' 등으로 쓰일 수 있다.
